To celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of its founding in 1969 the club hosted a
Luncheon for sixty member at Cranage Hall. It is appropriate on this anniversary date to highlight one of our earliest members, Jean Taylor, whose influence in the early days did wonders to set the club on the road to its continuing success.
The tables were decorated with stunning yellow roses and calla lilies, prepared by Di Jones, Sheila Bettridge, Lorraine Dorsett and Win Ross . Win also made and presented a celebratory cake, the cutting duly performed by our longest-serving Honorary member Trish Trew, accompanied by Chairman, Liz Turner and President Di Jones.
Two Associates of honour also attended, Judith Butterworth and Brenda McNulty.
The Cheshire Area of NAFAS was represented by Chairman, Nicky Wylie.
The afternoon proceeded with a masterful, amusing hour with speaker, Gay Rhodes with her take on problems facing women of “That Certain Age”
