Chairman, Liz Turner welcomed members and visitors to the July meeting. Liz reminded us about the coffee morning which is to take place on Wednesday, 15th August. Liz then congratulated those members who had won awards for their floral designs at the Cheshire Show and also those club members who were involved in the creation of a truly spectacular display at the RHS Show in Tatton Park and were awarded a gold medal.
Liz then announced the winners of the Members' Competition for July, which were as follows:

Liz then introduced the demonstrator for July who was 2018 Chelsea Gold Medal winner, Louise Jones from Wallasey. Louise's title was 'Inspired by Wood'. Louise filled the stage with a spectacular array of designs in wooden containers of varying kinds, using willow, driftwood and cork. Flowers used included Cala lilies, carnations, red hot pokers, celosia, dahlias, anthuriums etc. While creating her designs Louise talked about a recent rip to Gambia and about the stress and excitement of competing at Chelsea.
