Chairman, Liz Turner welcomed members and visitors to a very interesting afternoon with Zambian born demonstrator, Namiye Sianga who spoke at length of her early years spent with her parents and tribe before they left the village to live in the city. She was introduced to the beauty of flowers when her mother started a garden with many exotic plants. Namiye travelled here to London to study and began her love of plants when she joined flower classes. Her title for the demonstration was, “A Journeys Tale”, and what a wonderful tale she gave. The stage was filled with very colourful flowered exhibits, all of which we hoped to win in the raffle. Our competition, “A Bit Of This And That” was won as follows:- Novice and Newcomers 1st.
